This is the best series I've ever read. I am an avid reader. I am not a highly religious person and I would normally never pick up a Christian Fiction book, but I read the 3rd in the series in high school and was hooked. Still waiting on the spinoff series to finish.

Cheney is a wonderful character. Independent and fierce, but fragile and insecure inwardly. The growth of this character during the series is completely realistic and satisfying to the reader. And you can't and won't find a better hero than Shiloh Irons, period. The secondary characters, feel like main characters, but they never overshadow Cheney and Shiloh.

Lynn Morris is a fantastic writer who hasn't been given her credit due since she does not write for the mainstream audience, but if you appreciate good writting, please read this book or any and/or all of this series.

This is a really good book. with each of the Cheney books, you think you can't get any more climatic, then suddenly You are suprised and left gasping for breath! Book six is taking the cake. can't wait, can't wait! out of the series, Book six isn't my favorite. but it is absolutely necessary background for continuing the series. So much happens with Cheney, and With Shiloh. It's one more step towards finding his family, and One more step for Cheney in trusting God with her whole life, especially her emotions. Cheney takes a job in a San Francisco hospital as its first female physician. Despite a few problems that erupt, for the most part she enjoys her job, with occasional outings with her friends. Shiloh meets Bain Winslow from Hawaii, who turns out to be his first real lead as to who his real parents are. Some parts of this book may seem frustrating, while others go very quickly. This is probably one of the most important books in the series (and of course, you have to read them all to know what's going on)!
Another outstanding novel by the Morris duo! As usual, great historical. In this book, the Morris's emphasize the Christian growth of the characters, particularly Cheney. The love story is devine! As this series develops, I get the strong affirmation that God creats a special person for everyone. There is such humility in Shiloh and such devotion to the true love of his life - even when he is not certain he will ever have her for his own. Afterall, they come from different classes in society. But are they really so different? I think probably not...God is not a respecter of persons and I see an admirable character developing in Cheney - while she notes the differences in classes, she loves and respects all people. A bit of Jesus in her? Most certainly. Enjoy reading!

I really liked the whole series and went out of my way to get a chance to read all the books in the series in order. Each book stood alone and as a series they made a great read. Also no graphic love scenes which I really appreciated. Some things are best left to the imagination.
Continues an 8-segment series. Glad to be able to purchase and read in sequence.
